Hello again ....

I know that it has been such a long time since everyone has heard from me.  Before, I go any further I want to thank every single one of you that has come by for a visit during my absence of the past few months.

It has been a long road forward for me, and at the same time such a blessed one as well.  I have learned so much since June.  I have learned to have patience with myself.  I learned about limitations.  I learned about believing anything is possible.  I learned how lucky I really am.  I learned to appreciate each and every single moment.  And, I learned that the "moments" are just as important as the "days".  But, most important ... I learned about me!!!!

Yet, in all my moments, that turned into days which finally ended up totaling in months ... I have missed all of you.  There were so many days when I wanted to just come and talk.  Yet, I believed in my heart this wasn't really the place for me to burden my friends.  And, all of you ... are just that.  You are my dear friends.   I have valued your continued support.

I decided that it was important that the next time "I CAME FOR A VISIT", it would be to bring again a free wordart.  And, that day has FINALLY arrived.

So, welcome back ....
My freebie for today:

 You can download this at:

There is a story behind this wordart because about two months I set a goal for myself to accomplish on my 64th birthday, September 7, 2013.

And, that was run in a 5K relay!!!
It is and was  my way of thanking my incredible and supportive family and God.

Now, I have always, always been the spectator when it comes to running.  Running was for other people ... like my daughter, Angie.  The thought of just running ... that was plain tiring.  And, I wasn't the one doing it.  You see, I believed in WATCHING only.  Yet, one night ... COMPLETELY LOST IN MY BRAIN ... the thought came and I knew that I wanted to do it.

Yes, I wanted this .... but I wondered if I could?  This was an "impossible achievable" dream and I went after it.  I started by walking 30 minutes, then 45 minutes and then one hour.  And, when the day finally arrived ... I was scared out of my mind!!!!  I even thought I was going to "throw up" before I even got started.  And, I just prayed .... I knew I'd prepared myself to the best of my ability.  I just really, really wanted to DO THIS!!!  I had to BELIEVE upset stomach and all that

I COULD DO IT!!!!!

Here is me at the finish line:

And, last but least I must share with all of you.
This is from the Cedar River Valley Association
Marion, Iowa

I just had to share with everyone. I got an email today from Aaron T. telling me I was featured on their site about the Swamp Fox Festival 5K.

Their Comment:

"AWESOME story about this runner. Her name is Sue B. If I heard her right through the joy and tears, she is recovering from a stroke. THIS is what a champion LOOKS like".

What a unexpected surprise and added memory for my first 5K
that I got yesterday, September 9th .

So, you see my free wordart is dedicated to everyone's IMPOSSIBLE DREAMS because I am proof that they can come true.  I want everyone to know and realize that I believe with all my heart that anything is possible, no matter what obstacles may come your way.

So, happy .......

Love, Sue

Mood Up Keeper

Today I want to do something really special.

I received a comment today from one of my newest friend's and a fellow designer and she has given me the most wonderful idea to start doing on my own blog.

She is THANKING her visitors that come to her site and leave a COMMENT.  I have always tried to thank my visitors each day with an email, but I do not THANK THEM on my blog personally.  Each week she is going to pick a special comment that means a lot to her and tell that person thank you by featuring the comment and telling why it meant so much to her.

I have decided to do the very SAME THING .... BECAUSE, Lisa .... this is such a fantastic idea.

Now, I want you know that this was no easy task for me.  I have received over a thousand comments during these past ten months!!!!  Because of the time it takes to go through them .... I will start with one that is pretty recent.

I received this comment from my dear friend and mentor, Trine.  Her blog is called Nothing But Freebies and she can be found at:  http://nothingbutfreebies.blogspot.com.  She offers many freebies and is such an artist in her own right.

Here is her comment that I received on October 19, 2012 about a layout I posted on my blog (I just wanted everyone to see ... I do scrapbook layouts, too).  It is from my post called "Don't Pout".

"Oh sweetie - if I want a happy laugh, your site, is the sure place
place to go.  I love, love, love, love your pouting layout.  It's a virtue
to be able to self-ironic (hmmmm, is that even a word in English).
Just checked with Google Translator and they say it's a word, which
probably means it's not).  Whatever, if you have more of these layouts,
please show them to us.  You are hereby appointed my personal
          "mood-up keeper".

And the reason, I chose this one .... I meant alot that she found the humor in my layout and what I was trying to convey.  She made me laugh over her "word" self-ironic and the word "whatever".  And lastly .... I love, love, love that she appointed me her personal "mood-up keeper".

Do go take a look at that layout and grab the free wordart I offered on that day ... again 10-19-12, Don't Pout.

And, this is sooooooo for you ..... Trine.

My freebie today is dedicated to Trine:
You can download her at:

Also, I want to feature another one of my
own scrapbook layouts from
Valentine's Day 2012
This one is of my grandson, Justin

.

So many thanks are also needed to be made.  I want to thank MizuuHim of Diviant Art for her beautiful one eyed beauty used in today's freebie.  She can be found at:  http://mizuuhime.deviantart.com.  And the girl is under the drawing called "Endless Sky".  And, ofcourse, I want to thank Lisa of http://decossesdynamitedoodles.blogspot.com for her inspiring idea.

And, lastly I want to thank "the man upstairs"; the one I always thank for all my blessings.  This special thought is for Him ... and the wonderful gift of "words and creating" that He has given me.

Keep those comments coming,  Hugs Sue

Heart's Memory

Good morning friends,

My freebie today is one I have made because of my reflective state of mind this morning.  I took a very early walk this morning and as I looked around my neighborhood, I realized that I am a very blessed person.

Not only has the day begun with gentle quiet, it's really beautiful this morning.  The air is crisp, with that touch of coolness that touches your nose and makes it cold.  But, it is one of those morning in which I felt extra close to God.  Many times in the morning that is when I talk to him in my mind.  And, this morning .... I have felt the overwhelming sense of "gratitude" not only for my family, but my friends.

So, my freebie is just my way of saying .... Thank You, Lord.

You can download it at:

And, to this early morning .... I want to bid all my friends that visit today ..... a very blessed day.

Hugs, Sue

Family

Now, you know it is really, really bad ....... when I wake up at 4:00 am and come down and get on the computer.  Yes, I admit it!!!!  I'm hooked!!!!!

Plus, I don't know about you ...... but ...... I can't seem to go on this thing without checking my emails first, then go to facebook and hopefully don't get distracted into another direction!!!!  And, before I know it ..... THREE HOURS have gone by!!!!

Now, this morning ..... I am FOCUSED!!!!  I just couldn't not do you guys another freebie.  However, I didn't put on my thinking cap for something new ..... instead I pulled out from my own wordart I've made in the past!!!!

So..... here's two oldies but goodies

I thought these two were very appropriate for family scrapbook pages

You can download at:

I am all packed ..... just need to make sure camera is charged.  Put a couple CD's on my Nano because my husband loves to listen to audio books when we go traveling or it's POLITICS.  So, I want to escape into my world of MY MUSIC and just drift away or should I say escape from that dear old man.  Otherwise, I'll be planning his DEMISE in the car!!!!

Baby to little girl

Welcome to the month of October!!!!

For about five days I am going to do freebies on the theme of Family.  Here is my first one and I do hope that you like it.

It is called "Baby to Little Girl"
and dedicated to all
the Daddy's out there
both young and old!!!

Here is my preview:
You can download it at:

I am also giving this minus "when her father gives her away"
in png format.

https://rapidshare.com/files/2906822385/baby%20to%20girl%20no%20wedding.psd

The idea came from the song "When A Girl Changes From Bobbie Socks To Stockings" with my own little twist on it.  It represents the "First Love" of every single baby girl .... that says Dada.  And, then when Daddy is still the love of her life .... he teaches her the true meaning of unconditional love.  This will lead some day to "her Man of her Dreams", just like her Daddy was for her mother.

This one was very heartfelt to make, because I am married to just such a man .... and his love has never stopped shining for his daughters or son.  And, I am pleased as punch to say .... our children have the same kind of soul mates that I do.

Leave some love as always.  And I continue to welcome all my newbies to this blog and hugs as always to all my great old friends.

Silverbutterfly

A couple of days I received one of my most cherished comments I have received.  It is one that I will cherish always.  Because of her special words I have wanted to do something just for her.  One of the things that caught my eye so much was her "name".  She calls herself the "silverbutterfly".  I just loved it so much, I quickly wrote back to her to ask her if I could use it in one of my free wordarts.

Silverbutter .... this one is dedicated to you.

The preview is:

You can download this at:

I also want to dedicate today to a unbelievably talented artist.  Her sketches and drawings are so beautiful and touching.  She is able to capture the essence of beauty in the "eyes" of her subject matter.  Her name is Meago and she displays her artisty at Deviantart.  If you would like to go take a look at her work, she can be found at:  http://meago.deviantart.com.  Thank you, Meago ... I go to your site often because your talent is extraordinary.

Until tomorrow.

Moving Day

My thoughts today have been alittle sad, as my daughter is about to move.  The packers arrived early this morning.  She and her family will be staying with us for eight days and then will move to Dubuque, Iowa.

I felt like just doing a freebie today to reflect my feelings.  I have done it two different ways for you.

Preview:

and the other way is without
daughter's gift

You can download at:

It's really hard to see her leave.  But, I am about to go and spend the rest of today with her and bring her some lunch.  How does chinese sound everyone.

God Listens

One of the things that I know about my newest friend is her faith is strong.  This newest wordart is dedicated to this and her daughter.

Janet has told me that her daughter is also going to college at Texas A&M, but that she works as a Family Camp Counselor.  I can't think of anything more wonderful then spending time with family's doing something that her daughter obviously loves.  I wanted this wordart to reflect that unbelievable importance of family.

The wordart is "God listens not to your words save when he Himself utters them through your lips".

I did this wordart in a set that I issued on March 21, 2012.  At the time, only through my own faith did I make it through a very difficult time.   Another time, I will speak of my mother .... but today is a time of "thankfulness" for all my new friends.

Janet ... this one is for YOU and your DAUGHTER.

You can download it at:  http://www.4shared.com/zip/EVlXXJ_L/god_listens_1_.html
And again, I will REPEAT .... any wordart ANYONE may want .... just let me know!!!!!

Hugs, Sue

You want me to do what!!!!!!

I continue to have some requests for personal wordart and I just love it!!!  Janet, again thank you for creating this new form of fun for me.

Janet's daughter is a "family camp counselor" and this just brought so many different images into my mind.  Now, this is something that I know something about.  As both a child and later as an adult I have been camping.  There were family trips with my family as a little girl, vacations when my own family was young and I was even previleged to go to a number of "girl scout" camps as a child.  I have never been a counselor, but I do remember how much I LOVED MINE.

This particular wordart I made it more "generalized" so that it could be used by all that love this great form of relaxation/gatherings.

You can download it at:  http://www.4shared.com/zip/yHM6JdsI/Clean_Up.html
Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH JANET.  And for any others out there, if there is any kind of WORDART that you may be looking for .... I'D LOVE TO CREATE THAT SPECIAL ONE FOR YOU, TOO!!!!!

Hugs, Sue
