Santa Non-Believer

One of my favorite photographs of my husband concerns a Christmas Holiday Tradition that happens each year at our home.  When my family gathers for opening presents, ever since my first child was a baby I have had each family member have a photo taken in our "I believe in Santa" hat.  I have found that with the exception of my grandchildren ... both my husband and now also my GROWN children want to fight me on this tradition!!!!  The excuse ... (husband) he now EXCLAIMS "I don't believe in Santa!!! and my children ... "Mom, we don't change how we look anymore" (daughters) and our son ... just plain refuses to wear it!!!!  Thank heavens for my GRANDCHILDREN!!!!!

My scrapbook page is of my husband and the hat ..... with very appropriate words!!!  The photo was taken in 2008.

I have also discovered doing this free daily wordart is forcing me to do a scrapbook page every SINGLE day of my photos I am constantly taking.  I don't just dream ideas now .... I accomplish them.  Thanks!!!!  lol

Love of Reading

Good morning to each and everyone!!!

Yesteday was a wonderful day here .... we had a high in the low 60's, which is unheard of here in Iowa in the end of January.  The snow is melting .... hurray!!!!

I have been reading the Hunger Games Trilogy and decided to do my free word art for today around that theme.  Has anyone else read it?  Are you loving it like me?  So, here is my scrapbook page around the theme of "reading".

Welcome 2012

Good morning world.  Today I am changing my direction just a little.  I feel that I have had Halloween, Christmas and now Valentine's Day taking over my brain and I need a change.  It's TIME for another holiday to be featured.  Today my free word art reflects New Year's Day.

My scrapbook page is still on the theme of LOVE .... though.  Kisses to be exact.

Word Art Freebies

I have completed my first week of giving out word art freebies.  For those of you who are NEW FRIENDS, I want to thank you for COMING to visit my site.  It has been so much fun for me to CREATE like this.  I have always loved being creative .... as I draw, paint, do embroidery digitizing and quilting ... along with my love of PHOTOGRAPHY and DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING.

Won't you be my valentine

Yesterday I received the cutest photograph from my daughter, Angie.  She is my silly, funny and utterly comical child.  Needless to say, I had to make a scrapbook page around it right away.  Now, my mind has been filled with an idea or two; and then this hit me!!!!  Why not do it around her favorite doll when she was a little girl.  Add a twist with  some humor .... love.  Here is my masterpiece.

Is it to late?

I have a mischevious grandson named Justin.  And during the holidays, I was always teasing him by telling him if he wasn't good .... I had a special cellphone that I could call Santa direct.  He just always just grins at his Nana.  As you can see he loved his present from us!!!!

Feel So Beautiful

I sure hope this is the last time I try to post this.  It has been one of those mornings.  Hopefully third time is the charm!!!!

Today's word art freebie is around the theme "Feel So Beautiful".  Now, you may be wondering why those words.  I have been thinking how special it is when my husband, John says "I'm beautiful".  It is really quite amazing that he "loves" me through all my moods.  My scrapbook page is around this thought ... my many moods.  Included too, of course is the theme of Christmas and not just Valentine's Day.  What can I say, it is my favorite holiday and I am working on my Christmas scrapbooking.

This was a tough one ....

Now, this morning has been a tough one.  Last night I decided to help myself get finished faster and I did my free word art design.  This had me thinking all I have to do is think of an idea in the morning; then do my scrapbook page around that thought feature my word art freebie for the day............ WRONG!!!!!!!!!

That scrapbook page ate my lunch .... just couldn't get it to come together the way I wanted it to.  This one was hard!!!!

I love adding "humor" to my wordart ... a little away from traditional valentine words and then sometimes do them around another holiday background.   My theme is ..... a box of chocoate, but I wanted DIAMONDS.

This morning I decided to poke a little fun at one of my favorite little guys of the Valentine holiday, and that is Mr. Cupid.  I don't know about you .... but everyonce in a while this little guy gets it all WRONG.

Halloween Uh Oh's

Now when my grandson, Elijah was born .... his big brother appeared not to be jealous of him one bit.  Do you really believe that?  Of course not ... you see it was evident in the most unusual ways.  Tristan decided that all of Elijah's baby "equipment" was officially still his.

This scrapbook page is a tribute to that.

The Lost Christmas Card

I want to first thank my new friend Laurie from" Laurie Made Me Scrap"  for featuring me on her site .

I have had such a ongoing LOVE AFFAIR with digital scrapbooking that begun just three years ago.  From that moment forward, I have been doing scrapbook pages of my family nonstop.

My most special Christmas decoration is my Santa Hat. It has traveled between Texas and Iowa many a year ... a way of keeping my children connected. Even in the middle of the summer, it makes it's way south. But, it is also my HARDEST decoration to put away. This is my poke of fun ....

Just a week before Christmas, Miss Allison heard the song "All I Want For Christmas Is A Hippopotamus" and fell in love with it. She hummed and sang it everywhere. What better gift for Christmas but one of her own. Nana came to the rescue.

Elijah makes his halloween arrival

I am lucky enough to have my own special little goblin. His name is Elijah and he is my eighth grandchild and sixth grandson!!!

So, it's been just a bewitching halloween filled with more than candy ... I got a bootiful baby boy.
